Media Requests

Need a source on veganism, animal rights, vegetarianism, or similar issues for your story?

As a published author, scholar, and animal rights activist prominent in the field, I have been a source for stories in national media outlets, including The New York Times and Newsweek. I have also been interviewed for several published books on vegetarianism and the animal rights movement, and done several radio appearances in the US and Canada. The books I have authored or co-authored, including Making A Killing: The Political Economy of Animal Rights (AK Press, 2007) and Vegan Freak: Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World (2nd. ed., forthcoming, PM Press, 2008) have been influential works in their own right in the animal rights and vegan movements.

Often available on short notice, I have the expertise and experience to work with you in time for your deadline with targeted information on topics within my specialty, including veganism and vegan culture/lifestyle, the animal rights movement, vegetarianism, and the ills of animal agriculture. Drop me a line via email at rjt at bobtorres dot net or use the contact form and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have or set up a time for an interview.

Thanks! –Bob Torres, Ph.D.
