I currently work as an assistant professor of sociology at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, USA. I hold a BA in Philosophy and a BS in Agricultural Science from Penn State, University Park and my MS and PhD are from Cornell University in Development Sociology. I live in the northern foothills of the Adirondacks in far upstate New York with my wonderful partner, confidant, lover, and friend Jenna, our two awesome canine companions Mole and Emmy, and our long-time feline friend Michi, who specializes in sitting on keyboards, lounging on books, and eating a great deal more than he should.

In my free time, I mostly tend to the projects below (the podcasting alone eats up quite a bit of my limited free time), but I also enjoy veagn cooking, mucking about with my Ubuntu Linux installation on my home-built computer, running, and when there’s no snow on the ground, riding my road bike (for bike nerds: a Serotta C3, steel).

I’m a long-time Linux and Mac user with experience in network administration and other geeky things. I also can be caught evangelizing for the Dvorak keyboard layout on occasion. This keyboard layout is so superior that I just don’t get it why everyone doesn’t use it….
