this is an absurd case in which this professor’s academic freedom is clearly being violated. I hope this doesn’t signal the beginning of a nasty trend.

You are my hero. Your health episode was wonderful. It synched with my own personal drama of the moment quite well. I bopped down the road muching and apple and listening to you. Thank you. Sweet tat too.
I’ve saved your page, I’ll be back.

This is absurd. So, if I understand this right they fired him for giving his opinion on a recent event. Maybe it’s just me but don’t educators do this all the time? They may have disagreed with what he said (I thought he was spot on for the most part) but that’s hardly reason to fire him. As you said Bob, I hope this is not a trend. It would be a said day for education indeed, if professors could not share their personal opinions with their students without risk of loosing their job.

Didn’t you get the memo? Freedom is un-American!

Thanks, Daron!
Matt: Educators do do this all the time, particularly at the college level. WTF? I don’t know.
Chris: un-American and un-Christian: the double-whammy.
