Remember the book proposal I mentioned here a few weeks back? Happily, AK Press has decided to publish the book. I just signed the contract, and I’m staring down a heady mixture of both excitement and fear. The mildly scary part is the following contract clause:

“The Author shall deliver to the Publisher one complete draft manuscript of the Work, on or before 3/1/07 and one copy in manuscript form and one copy on computer disk of the final edited manuscript for the work on or before 5/15/07 acceptable to the Publisher in length, content, and form.”

Okay, maybe not scary, but I guess after thinking about this for so long, a contract really makes it concrete. And deadilnes….oh deadlines.
